PhilHealth offers screening and treatment benefit packages for individuals at risk of lung-related illnesses due to smoking or vaping.

Summary

In observance of No Smoking Month, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced available benefit packages for smokers and vapers. Eligible individuals aged 50-80 with specific risk factors, such as long-term smoking or a family history of lung cancer, can access Low-dose Chest CT Scans (LDCT) for P7,220.

Beyond screening, PhilHealth provides treatment packages for various conditions, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (P23,790), moderate-risk Pneumonia (P29,250), and the Outpatient TB-DOTS Package (P7,800). The Department of Health (DOH) also encouraged the public to quit nicotine use, highlighting the DOH Quitline 1558 as a resource for professional assistance.
