AIR Submits Premarket Tobacco Product Application for Crown Switch Rechargeable Pod Vape Platform
Summary
AIR Global PLC (NASDAQ: AIIR) announced it has submitted a Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for Crown Switch, its next-generation rechargeable pod vape platform powered by Greentank's Quantum Vape chip-based aerosolization technology. The application includes extensive scientific evidence covering toxicology and aerosol chemistry, clinical and non-clinical studies, consumer research on adult smoker switching, individual and population-level health impact assessments, manufacturing and quality-control data, and measures to limit youth access. In July 2026, AIR announced a $20 million preferred-share investment in Greentank at an approximately $170 million pre-money valuation, plus a warrant to increase its ownership stake by an additional 20% over 24 months. The submission extends AIR's U.S. strategy beyond its Al Fakher-led social inhalation business. The FDA must first determine whether to accept and file the application for scientific review, may request additional information or conduct inspections, and retains sole authority over the final marketing determination. AIR argues that responsible innovation in the regulated market, alongside enforcement, could help limit the illicit vaping market, but acknowledges the final outcome rests solely with the FDA.
