Norfolk shops are warned to prepare for new laws banning under-18 vape sales from October 29 and tobacco sales to those born after 2009 from 2027.Summary
Norfolk County Council Trading Standards has reminded shops and online sellers to prepare for new tobacco and vaping laws. From October 29, selling vaping or nicotine products, including nicotine pouches and zero-nicotine vapes, to under-18s will be illegal, both in stores and online. Additional restrictions will apply to vending machines selling tobacco, herbal smoking products, cigarette papers, and vaping or nicotine items. From January 1, 2027, it will also be illegal to sell tobacco products, herbal smoking products, or cigarette papers to anyone born on or after January 1, 2009. Retailers must display a notice stating: "It is illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009."
