However, he became so addicted that he vaped a 'disgusting' amount, often carrying the device in his pocket and falling asleep with it. In February, while working a shift, he experienced sudden, excruciating chest pain and felt like he was 'breathing through a straw.' Despite the agony, he initially thought it was indigestion and continued working for another hour and a half. He eventually drove himself to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a collapsed right lung. Remarkably, he was still holding his vape as he was wheeled in. He underwent emergency surgery to reinflate his lung and has since quit vaping, warning others of the potential dangers.
