PDEA-6 seizes marijuana, cannabis oil vape cartridges
Summary
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 (PDEA-6) conducted a courier warehouse interdiction operation on October 27 at a warehouse in Barangay Nalook, Kalibo, Aklan, using a K9 unit that alerted to two suspicious parcels. The parcels contained two bricks of dried marijuana weighing approximately 1.02 kg and 0.5 kg, along with 25 disposable vape cartridges labeled "KALIFA KARIS," "PEACE," and "Cali Honey" containing suspected cannabis oil. Following laboratory sampling and authorization for a controlled delivery, authorities attempted delivery on October 29. The first parcel, containing about 1.02 kg of marijuana and the vape cartridges, was refused by its recipient, but the second parcel was successfully delivered in Kalibo, leading to the arrest of a suspect known as "Kanggeng." Authorities recovered one brick of marijuana fruit tops weighing about 0.505 kg, with a street value of P130,000 and standard value of P60,000, along with a mobile phone, packaging materials, a parcel box, a "HAZY KATE" sticker, and an ID card. The suspect is in PDEA custody and will face charges for violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This was PDEA-6's first successful K9-assisted courier warehouse interdiction resulting in a controlled delivery and arrest in the region.
