Cannabis vaping is becoming increasingly popular with Quebecers
Summary
The 2026 Quebec Cannabis Survey by the Institut de la statistique du Québec shows that overall cannabis use among Quebecers has declined to about 14 per cent, down from 17 per cent in 2025, while cannabis vaping is on the rise, particularly among young people. Among 15- to 20-year-olds, the proportion who vaped cannabis rose from 24 per cent in 2019 to 60 per cent in 2026, and increases were also seen among 21- to 34-year-olds and those 35 and over. Vaping is now the second most popular consumption method after smoking joints, though few cannabis users vape daily. General vaping also remains popular among youth, with 7 per cent of the population aged 15 and older reporting vaping in the past 30 days, most using fruit-flavoured liquids.
