A woman punched and kicked a staff member after being asked to stop vaping on the Elizabeth Line platform at Whitechapel station.

At around 11.30am on Monday, June 29, a woman was asked to stop vaping on the Elizabeth Line platform at Whitechapel Underground station by a member of staff. She then punched the victim in the face twice, causing a fractured eye socket, and kicked the staff member in the chest. Officers want to speak to the woman pictured, as they believe she may have information that could help their investigation. Anyone who recognises her is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 234 of 29 June, or to give information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
