Customs intercepts N809.6m expired vape in Lagos

The Nigeria Customs Service’s Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command intercepted a 40-foot container containing 182,340 expired disposable vape pieces in Lagos. The seized goods, valued at N809.6m, included various expiry dates ranging from 2022 to 2026, posing a significant public health risk.
Acting Customs Area Controller Bolaji Adigun reported that the interception occurred during a thorough cargo examination. The command also announced a significant revenue increase, generating N19.4bn in June 2026, a 35 percent rise compared to the previous year. The seized items are being handed over to the appropriate government agencies for regulatory action and disposal.
