Norfolk County Council Trading Standards has issued a reminder urging local shops and online sellers to prepare for new tobacco and vaping laws taking effect soon. From October 29, it will be an offence to sell any vaping or nicotine product—including nicotine pouches and zero-nicotine vapes—to anyone under 18, applying to both in-store and online sales, with additional restrictions on vending machines selling tobacco, herbal smoking products, cigarette papers, and vaping or nicotine items. From January 1, 2027, it will also be illegal to sell tobacco products, herbal smoking products, or cigarette papers to anyone born on or after January 1, 2009. Retailers will be required to display a notice stating that it is illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone born on or after that date.
