Two Scottish business owners were disqualified as directors after a £15 million illegal vape smuggling and tax evasion scheme.Summary
Kyle McGinness and Leanne Moynes, directors of YSK Enterprises Limited, have been disqualified as company directors for nine years each. The duo imported over 350,000 vapes from China disguised as medical nebulisers, evading nearly £15 million in unpaid VAT and customs duty, plus £437,101 in corporation tax. Border Force intercepted the shipment in 2023. Moynes also failed to preserve company records, obscuring the fate of over £1.6 million in assets. The disqualification, secured by HMRC and the Insolvency Service, aims to protect consumers and legitimate businesses from the dangers of illicit vapes and tax fraud.
