During an enforcement operation in Punggol conducted by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF), three individuals aged between 11 and 29 were caught and fined for vaping. Additionally, a 17-year-old male was arrested for suspected etomidate use after testing positive for the anesthetic agent, which is often found in vapes known as "Kpods."
Authorities seized four vaporizers and related components, including one pod suspected of containing etomidate. Five other males, aged 17 to 20, were caught for underage smoking and referred to the Health Promotion Board for counseling. These enforcement actions follow the implementation of enhanced penalties under the Tobacco and Vaporisers Control Act on May 1, which significantly increased fines and potential jail time for vaping offenses.
