BCCI asks Arshdeep Singh to stop vlogging after Yuzvendra Chahal vaping controversy in IPL 2026

The BCCI reportedly warned Arshdeep Singh to stop vlogging after a teammate's vaping incident.

Summary

Hours after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced stricter operational and security guidelines for IPL franchises and players, Arshdeep Singh has reportedly been warned by the board to stop his behind-the-scenes vlogging activities. This directive follows a controversy involving teammate Yuzvendra Chahal, who was allegedly caught vaping on a team flight to Hyderabad. According to an NDTV report, the BCCI asked the Punjab Kings bowler to cease vlogging after one of his travel videos allegedly showed Chahal vaping. The issue arose when social media clips from Arshdeep's vlog went viral, showing Chahal hiding something under his left palm before mimicking a vaping gesture. While the original video reportedly included the full sequence, the clip has since been edited, but the footage had already reached a wide audience online. So far, neither the BCCI nor Punjab Kings has released an official statement about the matter. This incident marks the second vaping-related issue to hit the IPL this season, following an accusation against Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag for vaping in the dressing room. Parag was subsequently fined 25 percent of his match fee and received a demerit point. Earlier in the day, the BCCI sent an eight-page directive to all 10 IPL franchises outlining new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and warning of stricter compliance measures to protect the league's integrity.
