Just one month until Vaping Products Duty and Duty Stamps scheme starts
Summary
The UK's Vaping Products Duty (VPD) and Vaping Duty Stamps Scheme will come into effect on 1 October 2026, with a one-month countdown. The new excise duty is £2.20 per 10ml on vaping products, regardless of nicotine content. Manufacturers, importers, and warehouse keepers must apply for HMRC approval by 1 October to avoid sanctions. Retailers and wholesalers can sell unstamped stock during a transition period until 31 March 2027, but from 1 April 2027, all products must have a duty stamp. Digital stamps are available from 1 September 2026. The scheme aims to create a smoke-free generation and tackle youth vaping.
