Thailand’s Department of Medical Sciences announced that a seized vape pod contained a clear orange liquid with 3.56% methamphetamine hydrochloride and the anesthetic etomidate, a substance reclassified as a Category 2 psychotropic drug in July 2025. Director‑general Sarawut Boonsuk warned that inhaling the combined substances can be fatal, causing unconsciousness, respiratory problems or death. The discovery marks the first reported mix of these drugs in vape products, prompting health warnings to e‑cigarette users.
