Sydney Vape Distribution Network Busted in Crackdown
Summary
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), in collaboration with the New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF) and other agencies, conducted multiple enforcement operations in Sydney, targeting a logistics company involved in importing, storing, and distributing unlawful vaping goods, nicotine pouches, and illicit tobacco. On 3 February 2026, authorities seized 57,156 vaping items valued at $2.8 million. Further operations on 21 July 2026 and 13 August 2026 resulted in the seizure of 188,117 vaping goods ($9.4 million) and 200 vaping items plus 60,000 nicotine pouches ($70,000), respectively. Collectively, over 245,473 unlawful vaping products and 60,000 nicotine pouches were confiscated, valued at more than $12.3 million. The TGA emphasized the importance of intelligence-led enforcement and warned of severe penalties for non-compliance with the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989, including imprisonment and fines up to $2.55 million for individuals and $25.5 million for corporations.
