A vacant vape shop at 141 Western Road, Brighton, will be converted into a fried chicken takeaway after council approval.

Summary

The council approved a plan to turn the vacant 141 Western Road shop in Brighton, previously a vape store and later a dry‑cleaning business, into a fried‑chicken takeaway. The proposal was submitted by Tamoor Khan of Savour Station Ltd and promises a menu that will stand out in the busy Churchill Square area. "Keeping in mind the need to provide a variety of food, and as welcomed by the local customers, our client decided to introduce fried chicken takeaway." The council planning officers agreed to an 11 pm closing time and required measures to control noise and odour from the high‑odour cooking. A new kitchen extraction system, canopy, flue pipe riser and anti‑vibration brackets will be installed. "This will not only increase the business but also bring further revenue to the authorities and create additional job opportunities." The developer claims the project will create jobs, increase revenue for the authorities and add variety to local food options.
