2 employees accused of selling vape products to minors during compliance checks
Summary
The Riverhead Police Department’s COPE Division and the Riverhead Community Awareness Program conducted compliance checks at ten businesses in the Town of Riverhead on Sunday. The initiative aimed to reduce the sale of vape products to individuals under the age of 21.
As a result of these checks, Saqoob Naseer, 62, an employee at the 7-Eleven on Old Country Road, and Yavuz Erdogan, 55, an employee at Gotham Smoke, were both charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the second degree. The remaining eight retailers visited in Jamesport and Riverhead were found to be in full compliance with regulations.
